KAMI

“In discipline there is freedom; in order there is chaos.”

Greetings, Soldier.

The way of the Kami is not an easy path, but with great sacrifice comes greater glory.

In the days when the world was young, Tei Shaw set out from her home with the Annunaki to earn renown by fighting the greatest of the Wotani warriors. With her on this quest came her loyal family and followers. They climbed high into the mountains on the roof of the world and defeated all Wotani they found there, claiming that land for their own.

And here the people of the Kami, or “those who wrestle with the Universe,” have made our empire across all Asia.

“Su codgaia sut kappa.”

“I am the warrior against my other self.”

(Kami saying)

Elsira notes:

“Karu Kami is run essentially like a huge military organization. Drakons (karu leaders) are chosen among the most honored and venerable warriors and these “generals” are notoriously cantankerous when it comes to taking orders from the Davanish Queen and her council. As a group, the Kami are formidable fighters and extremely stoic, but one-on-one they can be as charming and gregarious as any Sidhe.” (Noble Order of Samuri Archives, no. 5837)

“There is no worse enemy to have than a Kami Sidhe; and no better ally.” (Pu Songling)
